Here we are already, the most recent complete decade of winners at the Grammy Awards! Get ready to feel like you're aging rapidly as you see which songs won over these years and see just how long ago it actually was. As is tradition, I'll only be highlighting the winners of the awards for Record of the Year (which is awarded to the performer and production team of a single song if other than the performer) and Song of the Year (which is awarded to the songwriter or songwriters of a single song). Let's jump in and start listening!

2009

The 51st Annual Grammy Awards were held February 8th, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. With no official host, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2008.

Record of the Year - Please Read the Letter by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (written by C. Jones, J. Page, M. Lee, R. Plant)

The first Record of the Year for this decade went to the Plant & Krauss cover of a Page & Plant song. First recorded in 1998 for Jimmy Page & Robert Plant's album Walking Into Clarksdale, Plant & Krauss collaborated on this song for their joint 2008 album Raising Sand. While the song didn't chart at first, its Grammy win helped it crawl onto the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Chart at #20 (which is basically #120 on the Hot 100). I wasn't able to find any more covers besides this one, but I will say that I liked this song more than I was expecting to.

Caught out running but just a little too much to hide/Maybe, baby, everything’s gonna turn out fine/Please read the letter, I nailed it to your door/It’s crazy how it all turned out, we needed so much more/Too late, too late, the fool can read the signs/Maybe, baby, you better check between the lines/Please read the letter, I wrote it in my sleep/With help and consultation from the angels of the deep

Song of the Year - Viva la Vida by Coldplay (written by C. Martin, G. Berryman, J. Buckland, W. Champion)

This is going to trigger my poor, sweet husband because he hates this song so much, but I can't deny that Viva la Vida is on my workout playlist. Featured on Coldplay's 2008 album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, this song was undoubtedly overplayed in the late '00s so just about everyone over the age of 18 knows it at this point. The song ended up at #13 on the 2008 Billboard Year End Hot 100 Chart, #55 on the 2009 Billboard Year End Hot 100 Chart, #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 Decade End Chart for 2000-2009, and #352 on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Chart. The song has been certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 4 million copies in the US and a total of 9.4 million copies internationally. This song has been covered quite a few times over the last 13 years, including but not limited to the likes of Darin, 2Cellos, and Weezer.

I used to rule the word, seas would rise when I gave the word/Now in the morning, I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to roam/I used to roll the dice, feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes/Listened as the crowd would sing, "Now the old king is dead, long live the king"/One minute, I held the key, next the walls were closed on me/And I discovered that my castles stand upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand/I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing, Roman cavalry choirs are singing/Be my mirror, my sword and shield, my missionaries in a foreign field/For some reason I can’t explain, once you’d gone, there was never/Never an honest word, and that was when I ruled the world

2010

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were held January 31st, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by acting icon John Goodman, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2009.

Record of the Year - Use Somebody by Kings of Leon (written by C. Followill, J. Followill, M. Followill, N. Followill)

Gosh, these first few years of this decade are like a free high school reunion for me. I so remember how big of a deal Use Somebody was and yeah, it's still a banger that I enjoy listening to when it comes on. Featured on Kings of Leon's 2008 album Only by the Night, this song ended up walking away with three Grammys in 2010: Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and Best Rock Song, only missing out on its nomination for Song of the Year. It ended up at #14 on Billboard's 2009 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #87 on Billboard's 2010 Year End Hot 100 Chart, and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling over one million copies in the United States. While none of the cover versions have quite come close to matching Caleb Followill's original vocals, other notable versions of this song include those by Trey Songz, Shawn Mendes, and One Direction.

I’ve been roaming around, always looking down at all I see/Painted faces fill the places I can’t reach/You know that I could use somebody/You know that I could use somebody/Someone like you and all you know and how you speak/Countless lovers undercover of the street/You know that I could use somebody/You know that I could use somebody/Someone like you

Song of the Year - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by Beyoncé (written by B. Knowles, C. Stewart, T. Nash, T. Harrell)

None of you should be surprised this song is here, and none of you should deny that you know both the words and the dance that have made this song into such an icon. Now I have my own feelings about Beyoncé, but it can't be denied that this song is a bop even if it's been overplayed for the last decade. Featured on Beyoncé's 2008 album I Am...Sasha Fierce, this song also won three Grammys in 2010: Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Single Ladies hit #8 on Billboard's 2009 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #99 on Billboard's 2000-2009 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and has been certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over four million copies in the US. As well as being (I would guess) the most popular bouquet toss song for wedding receptions since the late 00s, this song has been covered A LOT over the years, notably by Katy Perry, Sara Bareilles, and Liza Minnelli as well as many others who put their own spin on the song (composer Mark-Anthony Turnage actually arranged it to be a classical piece!).

Up in the club, we just broke up, I’m doing my own lil thing/You decided to dip, and now you wanna trip ‘cause another brother noticed me/I’m up on him, he up on me, don’t pay him any attention/Kept crying my tears for three good years, you can’t be mad at me/‘Cause if you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it/If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it/Don’t the mad once you see that he want it/‘Cause if you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it

2011

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were held February 13th, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. With no official host, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2010.

Record & Song of the Year - Need You Now by Lady A (written by C. Kelley, D. Haywood, H. Scott, J. Kear)

Now as thrilled as I was to see a country song receive worthy recognition from the music community, this song was WAY overplayed in the early '10s and while I still enjoy listening to it, it needs to have long breaks in between listening sessions. Featured on Lady A (at that time Lady Antebellum)'s 2010 album Need You Now, this song was very literally everywhere for probably a solid two years. Country songs have their own Billboard Chart but don't often climb too high on the Hot 100 - however, Need You Now ended up at a very impressive #2 on the 2010 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #68 on the Billboard 2010-2019 Decade-End Hot 100 Chart, and #223 on the Billboard All-Time Hot 100 Chart. The song has been certified 9x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 6.7 million copies in the United States. Popular cover versions include a duet between Adele & Darius Rucker as well as by Lea Michele and the late Mark Salling on S2E11 of Glee, The Sue Sylvester Shuffle.

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor/Reaching for the phone ‘cause I can’t fight it anymore/And I wonder if I ever cross your mind/For me, it happens all the time/It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now/Said I wouldn’t call, but I lost all control and I need you now/And I don’t know how I can do without/I just need you now

2012

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 12th, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by music icon LL Cool J, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2011.

Record & Song of the Year - Rolling in the Deep by Adele (written by A. Adkins, P. Epworth)

Rolling in the Deep is the official start of my Adele addiction and I couldn't be more grateful for it. Featured on Adele's 2011 album 21, this song ended up being the USA's biggest crossover hit in 25 years and brought Adele from modest/moderate stardom to the international sensation she's been ever since. The song won 3 Grammys in 2012 for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Short Form Music Video. It was the #1 Song of Billboard's 2011 Year End Hot 100, #71 on Billboard's 2012 Hot 100 Chart, #10 on the Billboard 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #35 on the Billboard All-Time Hot 100 Chart. Certified Gold by the RIAA for selling at least 500,000 copies in the US, Rolling in the Deep is the best selling digital single of all time with a whopping total of 20.6 million copies sold as of 2019. Popular cover versions include those by Linkin Park, Aretha Franklin, The Piano Guys, David Cook, Ariana Grande, John Legend, Celine Dion, and Lea Michele & Jonathan Groff in Glee S2E20, Prom Queen.

There’s a fire starting in my heart/Reaching a fever pitch and it’s bringing me out the dark/Finally, I can see you crystal clear/Go ahead and sell me out and I’ll lay your shit bare/See how I’ll leave with every piece of you/Don’t underestimate the things that I will do/There’s a fire starting in my heart/Reaching a fever pitch and it’s bringing me out the dark/The scars of your love remind me of us/They keep me thinking that we almost had it all/The scars of your love, they leave me breathless/I can’t help feeling/We could’ve had it all, you’re gonna wish you never had met me/Rolling in the deep, tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep/You had my heart inside of your hand, you’re gonna wish you never had me/And you played it to the beat, tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep

2013

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 10th, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted again by LL Cool J, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2012.

Record of the Year - Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye ft. Kimbra (written by W. De Backer, L. Bonfá)

Another song from the '10s that got played into the dust, I still enjoy listening to this song whenever it's on. Featured on Gotye's 2011 album Making Mirrors, the song won two Grammys in 2013 for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Definitely Gotye's signature song, it was the #1 Song for Billboard's 2012 Year End Hot 100, #8 on Billboard's 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #32 on Billboard's All-Time Hot 100 Chart. Somebody That I Used to Know is certified a whopping 14x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 14 million copies in the US alone. In addition to being widely parodied after its release (there were some really funny ones on YouTube, check them out), the most notable covers of the song include those by Three Days Grace, Mayday Parade, and Darren Criss & Matt Bomer in Glee S3E15, Big Brother.

Now and then, I think of when we were together/Like when you said you felt so happy you could die/Told myself that you were right for me, but felt so lonely in your company/But that was love and it’s an ache I still remember/You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness/Like resignation to the end, always the end/So when we found that we could not make sense, well you said that we would still be friends/But I’ll admit that I was glad it was over/But you didn’t have to cut me off, make out like it never happened and that we were nothing/And I don’t even need your love, but you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough/No, you didn’t have to stoop so low, have your friends collect your records and then change your number/I guess that I don’t need that, though, now you’re just somebody that I used to know

Song of the Year - We Are Young by Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe (Witten by J. Antonoff, J.Bhasker, A. Dost, N. Ruess)

This is admittedly not my favorite song (Some Nights is so much better), but it definitely fits the early '10s musical narrative so I get why it won here. Featured on Fun.'s 2012 album Some Nights, the song won one of the three Grammys it was nominated for in 2013 (Song of the Year), missing out on Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The song hit #3 on the Billboard 2012 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #29 on the Billboard 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #112 on the Billboard All-Time Hot 100 Chart. It's been certified Diamond by the RIAA for selling over 6.8 million copies in the United States. Notable covers of We Are Young include those by Pentatonix and the cast of Glee in S3E8, Hold On to Sixteen.

Give me a second, I, I need to get my story straight/My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State/My lover, she is waiting for me just across the bar/My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking ‘bout her scar/And I know I gave it to you months ago, I know you’re trying to forget/But between the drinks and subtle things, the holes in my apologies, you know/I’m trying hard to take it back/So if by the time the bar closes and you feel like falling down/I’ll carry you home/Tonight, we are young/So let’s set the world on fire, we can burn brighter than the sun/Tonight, we are young/So let’s set the world on fire, we can burn brighter than the sun

2014

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards were held January 26th, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted again by LL Cool J, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2013.

Record of the Year - Get Lucky by Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers (written by G. de Homem-Christo, N. Rodgers, P. Williams, T. Bangalter)

Oh Daft Punk, with your robot masks and electronic banger hits. Featured on their 2013 album Random Access Memories, the song features vocals by Pharrell Williams and some excellent guitar work by Nile Rodgers which help really make this song what it is. Get Lucky won two Grammys in 2014 for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It hit #14 on Billboard's 2013 Year End Hot 100 Chart and has been certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 4 million copies in the United States. There aren't a huge amount of covers for this song, but my personal favorite is the award-winning Daft Punk mash-up by Pentatonix - it's really incredible.

Like the legend of the Phoenix/All ends with beginnings/What keeps the planet spinning, uh huh/The force from the beginning, look/We’ve come too far to give up who we are/So let’s raise the bar and our cups to the stars/She’s up all night to the sun, I’m up all night to get some/She’s up all night for good fun, I’m up all night to get lucky/We’re up all night ’til the sun, we’re up all night to get some/We’re up all night for good fun, we’re up all night to get lucky/We’re up all night to get lucky, we’re up all night to get lucky/We’re up all night to get lucky, we’re up all night to get lucky

Song of the Year - Royals by Lorde (written by J. Little, E. Yelich-O'Connor)

Call me basic, I don't care, this is still one of my favorite songs of all time. Featured on her 2013 EP The Love Club and her 2013 album Pure Heroine, Lorde had just turned 16 when she won the Grammy for this which is pretty impressive in and of itself. In addition to Song of the Year, Royals also won the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance, charted at #15 on the Billboard 2013 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #20 on the Billboard 2014 Year End Hot 100 Chart, 18 on the Billboard 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #69 on the Billboard All-Time Hot 100 Chart. The song has been certified Diamond by the RIAA for selling over ten million copies in the US and has sold about 22 million copies worldwide, making it one of the top selling singles of all time. There have been some really awesome covers of this song released as well, including but not limited to Selena Gomez, Jason Derulo, Bruce Springsteen, Weird Al Yankovic (who turned it into his parody Foil), Jack White, and and Pentatonix.

I’ve never seen a diamond in the flesh/I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies/And I’m not proud of my address/In a torn up town, no post code envy/But every song’s like gold teeth, Grey Goose, tripping in the bathroom/Blood stains, ballgowns, trashing the hotel room/We don’t care, we’re driving Cadillacs in our dreams/But everybody’s like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece/Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash/We don’t care, we aren’t caught up in your love affair/And we’ll never be royals, it don’t run in our blood/That kind of luxe just ain’t for us, we crave a different kind of buzz/Let me be your ruler, you can call me Queen Bee/And baby I’ll rule, let me live that fantasy

2015

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 8th, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted again by LL Cool J, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2014.

Record & Song of the Year - Stay with Me (Darkchild Version) by Sam Smith (written by J. Napier, J. Lynne, S. Smith, T. Petty, W. Phillips)

I remember this being Sam Smith's first big song and thinking it was pretty good, if not admittedly a little bit boring (sorry). Featured on their 2014 album In the Lonely Hour, the song won both Record & Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammys for producer Darkchild's version. This song is pretty interesting to me in that a lot of people like to use it for wedding receptions when, if you listen to the words, it's pretty clearly about getting clingy with a one-night stand, and also it was the center of some controversy when Smith had to add Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne as songwriting credits after they realized it sounded a lot like their 1989 song I Won't Back Down. Petty has gone on record saying he doesn't think Smith plagiarized or did anything maliciously, but the two songwriters now receive 12.5% writing credit on the song. Stay with Me charted at #3 on Billboard's 2014 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #58 on Billboard's 2015 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #70 on Billboard's 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #401 on Billboard's All-Time Hot 100 Chart. It has also been certified Diamond by the RIAA for selling over 10 million copies in the United States. Notable cover versions include those by Ed Sheeran, Florence and the Machine, Patti LaBelle, and P!nk.

Guess it’s true, I’m not good at a one night stand/But I still need love ‘cause I’m just a man/These nights never seem to go to plan/I don’t want you to leave, will you hold my hand/Oh, won’t you stay with me/‘Cause you’re all I need/This ain’t love, it’s clear to see/But darling, stay with me

2016

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 15th, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted again by LL Cool J, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2015.

Record of the Year - Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars (written by B. Mars, C. Wilson, D. Gallaspy, J. Bhasker, L. Simmons, M. Ronson, N. Williams, P. Lawrence, R. Wilson, R. Wilson, R. Taylor)

Again, overplayed? Yes. But don't you dare lie, if this song turned on in the room you're in right now you'd lose your damn mind and get up and dance. Featured on Ronson's 2015 album Uptown Special, this song would honestly be nothing without Bruno Mars which is why it took people a long time to realize that he was only featured on this song, not the primary artist. The song won two Grammys in 2016 for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It was the #1 song on Billboard's 2015 Year End Hot 100 Chart, #1 on Billboard's 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100 Chart, and #4 on Billboard's All-Time Hot 100 Chart, a HUGE order for a song that's only six years old at the time of writing this post. Uptown Funk is certified 11x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 11 million copies in the US alone and is one of the most streamed songs of all time in multiple countries. The song has been used in a lot of commercials for Garnier and Skippy Peanut Butter as well as on the soundtracks for Glee S6E9 Child Star and the Disney movie Zootopia.

This hit, that ice cold, Michelle Pfeiffer, that white gold/This one for them hood girls, them good girls, straight masterpieces/Styling, wiling, living it up in the city/Got Chucks on with Saint Laurent, gotta kiss myself, I’m so pretty/I’m too hot, hot damn, called a police and a fireman/I’m too hot, hot damn, make a dragon wanna retire, man/I’m too hot, hot damn, say my name, you know who I am/I’m too hot, hot damn, and my band ‘bout that money, break it down/Girls hit your hallelujah, girls hit your hallelujah/Girls hit your hallelujah, ‘cause uptown funk gon’ give it to you/‘Cause uptown funk gon’ give it to you, ‘cause uptown funk gon’ give it to you/Saturday night and we in the spot, don’t believe me, just watch

Song of the Year - Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran (written by A. Wadge, E. Sheeran)

I credit this song for getting me more interested in listening to Ed Sheeran's music, and it's a pretty good stepping off point if you haven't listened to him as of yet. Featured on Sheeran's 2014 album x, this song has become a big first dance number for weddings as well, but unlike Stay with Me this one is actually an appropriate choice. The song won two of its three Grammy nominations in 2016 for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, only losing out on Record of the Year. It charted at #2 on Billboard's 2015 Year End Hot 100, #47 on Billboard's 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100, and #236 on Billboard's All-Time Hot 100. It's been certified 12x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 12 million copies in the US. At this time, the most notable cover version out there for Thinking Out Loud is by country artist Chad Brownlee, but also please YouTube Jeremy Renner's parody of this that he did on The Tonight Show because it's absolutely iconic.

When your legs don’t work like they used to before/And I can’t sweep you off of your feet/Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love/Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks/And darling, I will be loving you ’til we’re seventy/And baby, my heart could still fall as hard at twenty-three/And I’m thinking ‘bout how/People fall in love in mysterious ways/Maybe just the touch of a hand/Well me, I fall in love with you every single day/And I just wanna tell you I am/So honey, now/Take me into your loving arms/Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars/Place your head on my beating heart/I’m thinking out loud/Maybe we found love right where we are

2017

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 12th, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by comedian James Corden, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2016.

Record & Song of the Year - Hello by Adele (written by A. Adkins, G. Kurstin)

If you don't have nice things to say about Hello or the entire 25 album then I will have to politely, but firmly, disagree with you because I love the whole package. Featured on Adele's 2015 album 25, I vividly remember watching (and sobbing through) the music video the night it premiered and being so insanely ready for that album to be released so I could feel that music in my very soul. The song won three Grammys in 2017 for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. It charted at #35 on Billboard's 2015 Year End Hot 100, #7 on Billboard's 2016 Year End Hot 100, #52 on Billboard's 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100, and #290 on Billboard's All-Time Hot 100. Hello is certified 7x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 7 million copies in the US, and is another of the best selling singles of all time for selling over 12.3 million units internationally by the end of the year it was released (2015) - really impressive given that the song debuted in October of that year. Popular cover versions of this song include those by Demi Lovato, Celine Dion, and Christine Grimmie. One last fun fact, not only did Adele sing and write the song, she's also listed as the drummer for this track.

Hello, it’s me/I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet/To go over everything/They say that time’s supposed to heal ya, but I ain’t done much healing/Hello, can you hear me/I’m in California, dreaming about who we used to be/When we were younger and free/I’ve forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet/There’s such a difference between us/And a million miles/Hello from the other side/I must have called a thousand times/To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done/But when I call, you never seem to be home/Hello from the outside/At least I can say that I’ve tried/To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart/But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore

2018

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards were held January 28th, 2018 in New York City, New York. Hosted again by James Corden, the televised awards honored musical achievements from the year 2017.

Record of the Year - 24K Magic by Bruno Mars (written by B. Mars, B. Brown, P. Lawrence)

Now this song is no Uptown Funk but it's definitely still a banger. Featured on Mars's 2016 album 24K Magic, the song charted at #16 on Billboard's 2017 Year End Hot 100 and has been certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA for selling over five million copies in the US. There's not a huge amount of cover versions for this out there at this time, but it's been used in a lot of media like commercials for various Next Top Model shows, the video game Just Dance 2018, and the 2018 film Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg).

Pop-pop, it’s show time, show time, guess who’s back again/Oh they don’t know, oh they don’t know, I bet they know as soon as we walk in/Wearing Cuban links, designer minks, Inglewood’s finest shoes/Don’t look too hard, might hurt yourself, known to give the color red the blues, ooh, shit/I’m a dangerous man with some money in my pocket, keep up/So many pretty girls around me and they waking up the rocket, keep up/Why you mad, fix your face, ain’t my fault that ya’ll be jocking, keep up/Players only, come on/Put your pinky rings up to the moon/Girls, what ya’ll trying to do/24 karat magic in the air/Head to toe, so player, ah, look out

Song of the Year - That's What I Like by Bruno Mars (written by B. Mars, B. Brown, P. Lawrence)

Now while I like 24K Magic, I DO NOT like That's What I Like. This song really just does not do it for me and I will actively change it if it comes on the radio or a playlist I'm streaming. Also featured on Mars's 2016 album 24K Magic, this song won 3 Grammys in 2017 for Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance. It charted at #3 on the Billboard 2017 Year End Hot 100, #30 on the Billboard 2010-2019 Decade End Hot 100, and #113 on the Billboard All-Time Hot 100. That's What I Like is certified Diamond by the RIAA for selling over ten million copies in the United States and is one of the best selling singles of all time. There's a couple of cover versions out there by Kurt Hugo Schneider & Mario Jose as well as Macy Kate.

I got a condo in Manhattan, baby girl, what’s happening/You and your ass invited, so gon’ and get to clapping/Yo, pop it for a player, pop, pop it for me/Turn around and drop it for a player, drop, drop it for me/I’ll rent a beach house in Miami, wake up with no jammies/Lobster tail for dinner, Julio, serve that scampi/You got it if you want it, got it, got it if you want it/I said you got it if you want it, take my wallet if you want it now/Jump in the Cadillac, girl, let’s put some miles on it/Anything you want, just to put a smile on it/You deserve it, baby, you deserve it all/And I’m gonna give it to you/Gold jewelry shining so bright, strawberry champagne on ice/Lucky for you, that’s what I like, that’s what I like/Lucky for you, that’s what I like, that’s what I like/Sex by the fire a night, silk sheets and diamonds, all white/Lucky for you, that’s what I like, that’s what I like/Lucky for you, that’s what I like, that’s what I like

While it'll be a hot minute before we revisit another decade of Grammys, this has been another really fun series for me to explore and I'm excited to introduce another one soon. Happy listening, and see ya'll next week!
