We're back - welcome to installment #6 in our Guitar Hero series! These posts can be a bit grueling I know with the sheer number of songs involved, but they're still a lot of fun for me to research and share with ya'll.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock was released September 28th, 2010 in North America for PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Developed by Neversoft and published by ActiVision, it was a rhythm and music based game that you could play alone with just your Gibson model controller or with up to three other people with the addition of bass guitar, drums, and vocals. Reception was fairly mixed here, split between being a good addition to the franchise and wishing the soundtrack was a little stronger (it's considered by some to be the weakest in the series). Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock scored an average of 74 from MetaCritic and an average 6 out of 10 from IGN.
In this game, the soundtrack was a little more curated to fit specific genres than its predecessors, and it definitely shows. In addition to the 93 song soundtrack, you could import stuff from previous games like Guitar Hero 5 or Guitar Hero: Metallica. Despite a narrower focus, this soundtrack is still pretty solid, and I'd say pretty much anyone could find a little something here to enjoy.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock featured eleven levels on story mode, with set lists of between five and ten songs each focused on a different character and genre. Like I've previously stated, I'm not a guitarist, so I won't be ranking the songs based on how fun or iconic they are to play. I did not own this game, so this list is fresh for me and I'm excited to look through it with ya'll. Let's get going!
