Personal Favorites of 2025

How has 2025 both sped and dragged by? Parenthood, particularly to a young toddler, has made experiencing new music a challenge, but one I was still glad to take on. It's been an interesting year for music, with a lot of fun surprises and a lot of surprising letdowns simultaneously. There's been what feels like a decent amount of genre crossovers this year which has been interesting to see. Overall, the music scene of 2025 has been anything but boring. Without further ado, here are my year-end post ground rules:

1. No singles released in 2025 just for time’s sake – only full albums and EPs.

2. The songs picked from each album are based on my personal opinions alone. There's no set number for these albums either like on other posts; it's just whatever songs grab my attention or punch me in my feelings. I encourage everyone to listen to the full album if you’re interested, because they’re pretty great and your opinions are likely to differ from mine!

3. I will point out which song is my favorite from each album and give honorable mentions to the others that I really enjoyed.

4. These albums and EPs are in chronological release order, not ordered by my personal preference.

5. I had to listen to and like at least one song off of an album or EP released in 2025 for me to want to write about it, so if an album you loved didn't make it, don't take it personally.
