Today in our Color Series, we're checking out the visible spectrum's third color: yellow.
Yellow is defined by dictionary.com as "the primary color between green and orange in the visible spectrum, an effect of light with a wavelength between 570 and 590 nanometers." In terms of symbolism, yellow is often associated with caution, cheer, energy, happiness, hope, intellect, joy, optimism, perception, positivity, spontaneity, and warmth. Does yellow not quite encapsulate all of that in your mind? Try out different shades like arylide, aureola, banana, canary, citrine, corn, flax, gold, goldenrod, honey, lemon, mustard, Naples, ochre, straw, sunflower, or any of the many other shades and names this color can go by depending on what frequency it's sitting at.
Like before, this post will be divided between albums and songs. For albums, I've again compiled a list of albums from my husband and I's individual Apple Music libraries looking for yellow album covers, because I now know that looking at a monochromatic playlist is be one of the most aesthetically pleasing things ever because I've started making them. I've also complied a list of songs, again from both my and my husband's libraries, that have yellow (or a various shade) somewhere in the title.
